I noticed it late last night. Figured the folks I follow couldn't all be at seder. Found the parislemon post and it made sense. It continues this afternoon. I saw your tweet on my phone via sms, but not on the twitter web interface. A full blown outage would at least be recognizable. Casual users might not really notice.
This is not a good thing. Twitter isn't mission critical for me, just interesting. However, it is annoying when it doesn't work properly. Are the twitter clients experiencing the same problem as the web interface? There is no consistency between SMS on the phone and the web interface.
I wonder when they get it fixed are those tweets lost or will we be flooded with all of the missed tweets?

Ran my account through an unfollow-refollow script a little while ago (http://twitter.bodyvisual.com/missing/) and twhirl immediately picked up several tweets I had missed. I had no idea I was even affected!
That's true. I haven't received any updates since 18th April from people whom I'm following. That can't be true. I'm following some people who are Twitter fanatics and post daily more than 10 updates. I can't believe that they haven't a single update on weekends. It's definitely has to do with Twitter outage/bug.

The Twitter site itself has been highly-erratic today and I've seen the maintenance page about a dozen times already. It was a bit like this some time last week, but not as much.

I noticed if I removed and then re-followed people it worked normal again. Luckily I only have 18 people I follow so far.

Interesting. I experienced only a few service page blips on Friday night. I too attributed not seeing others posting to just a "quiet weekend".
I had closed my twitter account, but reopened it recently to better keep track of all your code, pics, politics, tech, and product info.

I was wondering about seeing only a few tweets in twhirl since Friday night. Thought people were taking the weekend off; wondering why I wasn't.

I believe this is their new tactic for making the service appear to be working and it's a smart move by twitter: Always return a 200 to the user. If data are not correct or messages get dropped, well, that's another story.
Remember, IT is not their claim to fame.

I'm getting updates from only some of the people I follow. It appears that if someone I'm following has a lot of followers (Scoble, Leo Laporte, Merlin Mann), then I'm not getting his updates.

This is a very annoying kind of bug, but at least @twitter_status has acknowledged it (http://twitter.com/twitter_status/statuses/7928...).
