    Love it.

Hmm. I think Obama postage stamps could be a great way to spread support for Obama via snail-mail social networks. Besides, an Obama supporter wouldn't mind paying extra to show support both financially as well as visibly.

Gorgeous high-contrast image! (For the record, I'm still on the fence between Obama and Edwards.)

You're going against the New York Times Dave. The Times made Hillary their pick yesterday in spite of all the anti-Bill backlash. At this point I think everyone should agree that Edwards should drop out. He doesn't have a chance. The litmus test for the rest of the candidates in both parties is going to be in Florida.

    The Times made a mistake.

I think Barack and Hillary may well cancel each other out. Just a hunch I have.

Seeing Obama in Birmingham. I'm about to make a 90 minute drive to see Barack Obama in his town hall in Alabama. My vote is his to lose at this point. I think it is important to flop the Presidency back to the Democrats at this point, so I'll push that way whoever their candidate is, but I agree with Dave that we don't need more Clinton time in the White House. Also, I was glad to see Caroline Kennedy's eloquent endorsment of Obama.

He's an empty suit with nothing more than a sales pitch. "Yes we can" won't fly in D.C. You used to be fervent Clinton supporter. At least that's what I remember when you were defending the Clintons during the impeachment. Stick to software dave...you are good at that.
  • dave · 1 year ago
You have a bad memory, Chris. I called for Clinton's resignation many times and I never supported HIllary Clinton.
  • William King · 1 year ago
Injustice is injustice: there is no way you can justify impeaching a president over a woman, especially given the things that this current idiot Bush has done. I don't care a bit about the Clintons, but I didn't think Bill Clinton should have been impeached either.

Nah, it should be "Progress and Unity!" (top and bottom) ... it's a bit propagandistic isn't it, comrade? Maybe I'm just cynical.

However, the Obama Question is still there with this stamp, if anything the "Question" posed is even more starkly poignant... "PROGRESS"... to what... and when?

And no, "Yes we can" is not a real answer.

I fear for the US... by god, I'm writing from Australia... and yes, we follow it all here... and I don't want to offend most of the commentators here, who, by and large, seem a reasonable lot but... I just can't see the majority of voting Americans electing either a woman or a black man. I just have this complete fear that if either Hillary or Obama are nominated then a Republican victory is a certainty.

    > I just can't see the majority of voting Americans electing either a woman or a black man.

The anti-Hillary faction - count me among 'em - don't object to a woman serving as president. Our objections are to Hillary, herself. A couple of months ago, a pollster announced that there are more women in the Democratic party that are against Hillary because she's Hillary, than there are women in the GOP that are for Hillary because she's a woman.

Things have changed since Jack Kennedy dared to run as a Roman Catholic in 1960. Elizabeth Dole ran a decade ago, and Geraldine Ferraro actually got on the Democratic ticket. I thought Joe Lieberman would have problems, being Jewish, but it really didn't become an issue.

There are many white Americans who would love to vote for a black President. Part of it is to prove to themselves that they aren't bigoted. Part of it is to get the Klan to STFU. And many are glad to see a black man running for President who wants to be an American president, not a black president. It's about time we stopped letting race divide us.

There was a lot of talk, last time around, about running Colin Powell for president. I think Powell would make a much better president than Barack, when it comes to actually administering an organization with 3 million employees. But Mrs. Powell says no, so I guess that's out of the question.

The polls say McCain can beat Hillary, and Barack can just barely beat McCain. Any of the other GOP candidates lose against Hillary, lose against Barack. And Edwards can handily beat any of the GOP. But that's today. I suspect it'll be a VERY close race in November. And Diebold shenanigans will probably once again determine the winner.

    Dave,
What do you think about Obama snuffing Hillary at the Inagural speech? It was very clear she was on her way up to shake his hand.
  • Shona · 1 year ago
i think barack should win because hes better than clinton and he a better candiate than her.

Mr. Obama is exciting a lot of people. He has intelligence and charisma. We will see if that is enough to overcome his lack of political experience.

I think intelligence and leadership ability and the ability to inspire people is enough to overcome inexperience.

have you heard about william branham?....he predict that america will be lead by a woman...let's see if this woman is the catolich church or hillary..
  • Sol · 1 year ago
William Branham predicted that America will have a black president as a sign of the end times. That is to say the end of the world. He also predicted that a woman will rise to be very powerful, that is either president or be vice president.

According to whats going on right now what William Branham predicted is likely to be vindicated when America goes to vote...and this is likely to be a dual fulfillment of the prophecy of William Branham.

It boggles my mind how Hillary came up with a grand total of 35 years of political experience. I know she has seven years of being a senator. Now she has never served in a political position, or a public office, prior to that. Neither has she had a high profile job in the government: she wasn't a secretary of any department. So where has she gotten the other 28 years from? That I would truly like to know.

    The Rights of Man
    By Robert E. Kennedy
    March 30, 2008

Whoever we might be we are endowed by both God and Nature with the inherent and inalienable right to be free, to guide our life, our loved ones and yes, our country in the path of freedom or, what we, individually and collectively, believe is freedom to us. This is why freedom of speech is so very, very imperative. Your and my beliefs, when they do not infringe on the right of others to disagree may build a better country nation and world. I am more fearful of universal agreement on what is best for all than I am of disagreement. With freedom of expression we can agree to disagree, but when there is universal belief in one opinion or belief there is a very good chance that fascism may envelop a country or nation. This we do not want, nor need. When we possess the right to express our ideas on government without hate by us or others then, freedom and, what we call democracy remains strong and secure. When it does not we relinquish our innate to right call ourselves a free people.

Obama should be president beacuse this could be a great change to our goverment, to have a african american as a presidential leader. Obama could lower our use of oil and start looking for alternative fuels. He will do what he can to stop global warming and lower gas prices. I believe that Obama is going to be history and we are going to live it. Obama is the one to be president because he has the smarts and the know how to be a president. He has all the complex abilities thathe needs to be the president just like Hiliary Clinton said "no way no how NO MACAIN." that is the truth for america. Yes i think that Hilary would of been a great president she was actually who I was hoping who would become president. But unfortinatally she lost the democratic race. Either way i still want a democrat as president and not a republican. i am through with all the things Gorge Bush has done he was the worst president to me because he got us into one of the worst wars of our lives. For what reason the oil! that is just a load of bull crap. Democrats are america and we need a Democrat!
