I'm suspicious that perhaps Twitter is removing spammer accounts from the site because I've noticed more spammer types following me over the past couple months. Perhaps they've been taken out of the picture.

I hope they followed one of the basic rules of programming - Make a back up.
I "follow" you on Twitter, but don't always "click through" every link to a photo - sometimes I don't really care to see some tree or sidewalk somewhere or another. Lots of sites (NY Times, Salon, The Register, etc.) have lots of links - I don't click on all of them, either. Maybe you could factor that in your equation?
