Scripting News: New moderator for Meet the Press? (Scripting News)

I really don't like Mika Brzezinski so no thanks there. But Aaron Brown is actually a really great idea, one I hadn't thought of. Now that I think about it more it makes total sense but alas, like you, it seems unlikely. Maybe we could start a grassroots movement in support, a Draft Aaron Brown for MTP kinda thing?

I like Anne Curry for the job, but I don't think they'd give it to her. Strip out the fluff Today Show crap they make her do, and you see that Curry is a very intelligent women and a strong interviewer.

No thanks on Mika Brzezinski... I find her unbearable. She makes me think of a hummingbird, just buzzing away all morning but not really adding anything.

I love the idea of Mika, although I think she can't leave NYC because she's the mother of young children. But she is very well-informed, and she's assertive without being pushy (she is able to work with snarky Joe Scarborough, after all). She would be a great MTP host. Aaron Brown won't be it; he's been out of the mainstream for too long. And I agree with you about Chuck Todd; not exactly Mr. Personality

Aaron Brown would indeed be great.

We'd like someone who asks SMART questions, and smart FOLLOW-UPs.

We'd like someone who LOVES the American experiment, the American people, and American politics. Tim Russert fit that bill. So does Aaron. So does Chris Matthews.

The true dark horse candidate is, of course, Jason Linkins, of our invaluable Sunday bellowing fest snarkdowns.

My druthers rest with Chuck Todd. Yes, he's a numbers geek, but let's remember that Chuck was hired by Tim because of his statistition creds and his ability to convey the stats in articulate observations that were understandable by the majority of viewers. While Tim had his own signature gregarious way of reporting the political trends, it was always backed up by stats. Chuck has shown his ability to move his rhetoric in that direction, relying on the stats, but reporting the information in an unbias and methodical fashion. Chuck's also the same age Tim was when he became moderator of MTP, and he was hand selected by Tim to join the NBC new organization. I, for one, rank Tim's opinion above all others when it comes to MTP. I think Tim would be happy to see Chuck succeed him.

Here's another vote for Aaron Brown.
One of the best of these guys ever.
CNN was absolutely boneheaded to drop him

Yes--Aaron Brown! Didn't think of him until you mentioned it, and I'm sure it's too much to ask for. Thanks for putting it out there though.

Actually the PERFECT person for the job is right under everyone's nose and like Brown, they will never pick her but I promise you she would be perfect for it. Smart, thorough, good listener, takes no bullcrap and yet never leaves a guest feeling small either. perfect, perfect, perfect. ANN CURRY !

Aaron Brown would be PERFECT!! I do miss seeing him on TV and agree that CNN was STUPID to let him go. Wolfe Blitzer drives me nuts with his delivery--can't seem to get those thoughts together and out of his mouth--and he is still there!!
I like Chuck Todd too--very much. I don't know if they will let him take over just yet. He would be my choice over David Gregory.
Mika likes to look at herself in the camera too much--SO OBVIOUS! SO ANNOYING!
And please--NO (OVERLY DRAMATIC) ANN CURRY!
