How I develop formats and protocols. (Scripting News)
Thanks
Hard to say, my eyes are only 54 years old, but they're not in great shape
and I had no trouble reading the screen.
The only way to tell is to try it out, I guess.

From their FAQ:
The Zipit Wireless Messenger 2 is a Wi-Fi device and will connect to any wireless Wi-Fi router that supports the 802.11b and 802.11g standard. Any typical home wireless router that is connected to a high speed Cable or DSL connection should work. It will also work in thousands of public hotspots around the country. Wireless routers can be purchased at any retail location.
The Zipit Wireless Messenger 2 uses it's existing wi-fi technology to allow you to send text messages to cell phones. To start texting you first create an account on your Z2, this account is created the first time you turned your Z2 on (see Getting Started). Once you create an account a unique identifier is associated with your account and your Z2. In order to send a text to someone you have to enter them into your MyFriendz list as a cell phone buddy. Once you add a cell phone buddy you can then text them and it works just like a IM chat. The Z2 supports texting for the following service providers;
Hope this helps.
Here's how texting works on our end: you type the ten digit phone number in the To field of a new message. It hits our Peek gateway servers as a message addressed to a phone, we route it to an SMS aggregator who delivers it to the cell phone via the carrier's SMSC. So that last part is just like any SMS message.
The From: on the message comes from a pool of phone numbers we use for termination. So as long as any individual cell phone has less than a few dozen Peeksters texting them, the phone number to recipient pairing is constant. This is true for 100% of our users. What it means: whoever you text can save your "from" 3 and text you back whenever you like. Bottom line is: easy to receive them! Give it another try -- you can do it for a free month if you like by just emailing care at getpeek and copying me amol at getpeek dot com.
As for the ad in the text - if there is room in the text we add a signature that says "www.getpeek.com" on the theory that this explains why someone is texting you from something other than their cell phone, and explains the formatting a bit. We drop it after the first message (or at least we should -- didn't see it this way?)
About the trouble canceling service - not sure I understand actually. Of course you can cancel and talking to Jackie should have done it. Perhaps there is some extra nuance we are missing...will check.
