While I'm excited about this new innovation (I love Disqus), I've been pounding on their team to look at other, more important issues first and foremost. Issues such as getting comments OUT of disqus and EASILY back into WP or other systems. Do a better job clarifying the ownership of content issues. Make trackbacks work for crying outloud (trackback = basic cost of entry at this point in time)!

Early adopters (like Dave) are going to be crucial to making a system like Disqus work (and win out over other competing concepts), yet until some of these BASIC issues get worked out, the rest of these new feature additions are the wrong place to be spending time.

IMHO as a current and (mostly) happy Disqus user.

Thomas thanks for the info, but the "Publish comment" or "Record Again" never shows up. All it says after I click the "Start Recorder" is "Starting recorder..." if I click it again it says "Start Recorder".

hi colin, from the looks of the screenshot, it doesn't look like you've recorded the comment yet. You should click the red dot at the bottom of the window to "Start Recording". Then, when you click the red dot again to stop recording. Then, you'll get the dialog to either "Publish comment" or "Record Again".

No... the WP-plugin is not the same as disqus. You can install one or the other.

Well it did not show on this monitor so I assumed,,,
the issue that I think warrants consideration is that I clicked within your window and all the videos went on at the same time it was freakish and odd so I wanted to mention it, this was of course after watching them all separately, it was an inadvertent click . I think the video comments are an asset for a number of reasons some covered in Loic's recent post , soon I;ll get up to speed .

I think people talk softly when doing video because it still seems a little odd talking to your computer, especially if you're in a public place or at the office with other people.

VIdeo comment failed.
I registered, recorded a comment, then hit publish.
Was then taking into repeated loop asking for with a little dialog box that ask "Please enter your name from above and press OK" however no name show. After hitting ok got the same dialog box.

I was asked as well by Daniel at Disqus and was orginally told the 11AM time as well but then late last night I got another email from Daniel saying that the time had been moved up to 8AM.

The other disadvantage as I said on my blog is going to be the time we will need to take to "moderate" the video post. Where software can prescreen for bad stuff and we can follow up with a quick glance if need now we will need to sit through each and every video. Not sure how that is going to fly.

Where do the comments and video comments live? I mean, if you decide you don't want to use Disqus anymore, can you take the comments away with you?

Is anyone else confused by the Seesmic dashboard? I may not be that bright, but in the few minutes that I devoted to it after signing up (thanks Loic for the invite) I saw options for creating video messages but I couldn't figure out how to install Seesmic in my blogs.
